Prudential Fixed Income Names Jürgen Odenius to Lead International Economic Research

Former IMF mission chief brings global insight to sovereign analysis

NEWARK, N.J.--()--Prudential Fixed Income has named Jürgen Odenius a principal for international economic and strategic research, the company announced today. Prudential Fixed Income, among the largest fixed income managers in the United States, is an asset management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU).

Odenius, a former International Monetary Fund mission chief, is responsible for evaluating global macroeconomic trends and analyzing developed country sovereigns. His work will support Prudential Fixed Income’s views on interest rates, sovereign spreads and foreign exchange rates. He will be an important member of the Global Investment Strategy team and his appointment is effective immediately.

“Jürgen’s impressive global experience deepens our research capabilities as we seek to find opportunities and manage risk for our clients in an ever-changing global economy,” said Jim Sullivan, CEO of Prudential Fixed Income. “And his fundamental sovereign analysis adds an important backdrop to the foreign corporate credit analysis already done by Prudential Fixed Income’s investment grade and high yield corporate credit analysts.”

Before joining Prudential, Odenius was a mission chief for the IMF’s European Department in Washington, D.C., responsible for several emerging and developed countries. Previously, he formulated the IMF’s outlook for Germany, and contributed to the IMF’s capital markets outlook.
